Judy Willour is the Minister of Music and Organist

Judy Willour, is a Colleague of the American Guild of Organists and active in the Columbus AGO. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Temple University and a master's degree in education is from St. Joseph College in Hartford, CT. 

Included in her many years of teaching experience is her work at Columbus Academy where she taught for the past 12 years.  She also works with the children in our AWAKE program for Christian Education, preparing music for performance at the 10:30 worship service several times a year.

Choir
St. Stephen's has an all volunteer choir of approximately 30 voices.  The choir sings at most of the 10:30 worship services, September through May.  Music at St. Stephen's represents a wide variety of styles and periods, from Renaissance to contemporary. The mission of the choir is to enhance worship at St. Stephens.  Side benefits include the wonderful fellowship of this group and  our mutual enjoyment of music. 

Choral music is accompanied by our Schantz organ (2 manuals, 22 ranks) or our recital-quality piano.  At various times in the year this is supplemented by instrumental musicians some of whom are members of St. Stephen's and others are talented musicians from the Columbus area. 

The Choir meets each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. for practice in the Chapel. 2007-2008 rehearsals begin on September 2. To volunteer, contact Judy Willour.

Special Music
Three to four times a year, the Eucharistic liturgy is woven into a musical context that is a mix of jazz and contemporary styles.  Musicians from the congregation lead us in an upbeat celebration of the Mass.

Three times a year, the Choir leads the congregation in Choral Evensong on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m.  Please check our calendar for specific dates.

Strawberry Festival
In late spring, the choir and musicians present a program of music on a Sunday afternoon to raise money for our music program.  This is followed by a strawberry and ice cream social.
